RigQuip are experts in drilling equipment. We’re a longstanding business with a forward-thinking approach. We support our clients in efficient drilling operations, whether that’s providing state of the art new equipment and engineering services, or used equipment recertification and parts and expendables.

We are currently on the lookout for a Painter/Labourer to work in our busy Aberdeen workshop, supporting drilling equipment inspection and overhaul activities. The role will suit a hard working, dependable person with experience in painting to offshore paint standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Spray painting of drilling equipment to offshore standards
  • Cleaning and other preparation of drilling equipment for inspection
  • Support Mechanical Fitters with disassembly, inspection and rebuild of drilling equipment
  • Organisation of workshop, yard and stores as directed
  • Operate company forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Load and unload transport vehicles
  • Carry out equipment goods in and goods out checks
  • Support workshop improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a safe and clean workplace
  • Ensure compliance with company quality assurances processes
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental policies
  • Other related duties as defined by the management from time to time

Qualifications and Skills

Technical Requirements:

  • Significant experience in spray painting to offshore standard essential
  • Experience working in a workshop environment essential.

Education and Training:

  • Forklift training essential
  • Overhead crane training advantageous
  • Abrasive wheels training advantageous
  • Training in offshore paint standards advantageous
